The 6th Grade had a Zoom meeting with meteorologist Moe Shamell on Friday 2/16/24. He went over our entire weather unit explaining tools, radars, satellites, hot and cold air masses, & types of fronts with our 6th-grade students. He also spoke on how the weather is predicted and extreme storms like tornados & ice storms. He then finished with the education required to be a meteorologist.

On Friday, February 16, 2024, 7th graders at BGS did an inquiry lab to make their own DNA helix out of marshmallows, twizzlers, and toothpicks. This is part of the Life Science strand for 7th grade heredity standards which is a favorite for all students!

First grade and Kindergarten had a special visit from Miss Shelby County Volunteer, Jewel Bodkins. She spoke to the students about kindness and each student made a special Valentine for a friend or loved one as a way to show kindness. Students practiced identifying kind and unkind behaviors and helped brainstorm ways they could show kindness every day.

The Bargerton Lady Rebels Varsity team played in the FHU middle school Volleyball Tournament over the weekend. They came up a little short in the silver bracket Championship game against Dyersburg. Super proud of our team!! They are working hard, working together, and playing as a team.
