On September 12th, the FutureStar Summit, a leadership program designed for West Tennessee’s potential leaders, was held at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Bargerton's Emma Mayhugh and Jason Neisler were chosen to participate. They toured the school and participated in leadership activities. This event is underwritten by WestStar Alumni to encourage our leaders of tomorrow.
Top classes in our Read-A-Thon fundraiser are K-2 Mrs. Valerie's 2nd -25,783 minutes read. 3-5 Mrs. Jessica's 3rd -1,300 minutes read. 6-8 Mr. Myracle's 8th -4,781 minutes read. Happy Grandparent's Day to our wonderful BGS grandparents and grand friends! On Monday, September 11, our students, teachers, staff, and grandparents enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by our cafeteria staff including poppy seed chicken, hashbrown casserole, greenbean casserole, baked ham, rolls, and banana pudding. We had over 150 visitors that celebrated Grandparent's Day with us.
Forty eight students & their grandparents/parents/grown-ups spent time together today reading & testing on a library book earning AR points for the week & minutes read toward their Read-A-Thon fundraiser goal! A special thanks to our PTO volunteers Bre Avalos & Molly Franklin!
•REBEL READING NIGHT for K-4 students & parents, grandparents, or grownups• Our BGS will be sponsoring a Rebel Reading Night, Monday, September 18, 3:00-4:00pm. Please come & read with your child. This will benefit your child in our Read-A-Thon & with AR Points as well. And, you will be so proud of your little one!

Mrs. Stanford's 8th Graders open their Magnetism and Electric Lesson with a Van De Graaf Generator. The kids laughs and excitement weren't the only thing that was ELECTRIFYING!!! ⚡️💡
Mrs. Stanford's 8th graders participated in an interactive lab based on Newtons 3rd Law. They created and documented balloon rockets.
