Our first graders became geologists for the day!
As part of our learning about minerals and the important work geologists do, students got hands-on experience by “digging” for minerals in cookies. Using toothpicks as their tools, they carefully excavated chocolate chips just like real geologists uncover minerals from the earth.
Not only was it a fun activity, but it also helped students understand how scientists observe, explore, and discover. We loved seeing their excitement and curiosity in action! 🍪🔍
