🌟 Teacher of the Year Spotlight: Mrs. Anyce Russell 🌟
“My love for children inspired me to become a teacher.”
With 27 years of experience, Mrs. Russell currently teaches Kindergarten and has also taught 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as high school art.
Her favorite part of teaching? ✨ Seeing that light bulb moment when a child begins to read.
Her students have taught her the importance of patience, and she loves showing off their creativity by decorating the hallway with their Fall and Christmas work.
In her classroom, learning is full of hands-on fun — from making “Toothpaste T’s” and M&M bar graphs to pumpkin seed estimating and apple tasting! 🍎
She says teaching reading is her favorite because “it’s a gift students will use for the rest of their lives.”
Her advice to new teachers: “Love your students and do the best job you can — their future is in your hands.” 💛
Fun Fact: She starts her day with “any and all caffeine” ☕ and hopes her students would describe her as caring. 🥰
We’re so thankful to have Mrs. Russell as part of our school family — her heart for children shines in everything she does! 💛
