Mr. Chris Smith is a dedicated educator with 23 years of experience in various roles in physical education and administration. A Hardin County High School graduate, he pursued further education at the University of Memphis and completed his Master’s in Education at Freed-Hardeman University. Mr. Smith began his career at Ripley High School, where he coached football and assisted with baseball. He continued to make an impact at Caywood/Lexington Middle School as a PE teacher and head football coach. His leadership experience includes serving as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Scotts Hill High School and holding multiple roles at Pin Oak Elementary, including PE teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. This year, he takes pride in witnessing the commitment of his administration, teachers, and staff to continuously improve student outcomes, embodying the spirit of their motto, “TOGETHER WE WILL.” For new teachers, Mr. Smith offers valuable advice to “stay the course,” highlighting the importance of resilience in education.
