Scotts Hill Elementary School received an upgrade to the parking lot across the street from Hampton gymnasium. In addition to parent and staff parking, the lot is used for family and spectator parking during basketball games, volleyball games, and school events. In is also used for overflow parking for all Scotts Hill town events. Superintendent Danny Beecham was on hand as Road Supervisor Steve Vineyard directed his crew on Tuesday. It has been many years since the parking lot has been replaced due to confusion surrounding the fact that the Henderson county line and Decatur county line meet in the parking lot. Special thanks goes to Mr. Beecham and the Henderson County school board for allocating and approving the project. Thanks to Decatur county commissioner Jerry Jones for his help with research surrounding ownership and liability and thanks to both Mayor McCready and Mayor Creasy for approving the work that was done across county lines. Because everyone worked together, our students, staff and parents will benefit from a safe parking area.
