rock n run
It’s one of our favorite days of the year… our annual Rock n Run fundraiser. Every year, the Friday before Labor Day, Scotts Hill Elementary participates in a fun day of physical fitness, mixed in with a little bit of fun. Students are asked to gather family and friends that are willing to sponsor them in a running challenge. Every student from Pre-K through 8th grade is put to the test on their speed and endurance, in running from a quarter of a mile up to a full mile. Donations are gathered and the test begins. Students toe the starting line with hopes of being the champion of their grade. Teachers and staff join in just hoping to stay on their feet and finish. Staff members keep a fully stocked snack shack to rehydrate all participants. Parents and community members come to join in on the fun by running or cheering on all the kids. It sounds like serious business, but everyone is a winner because all the proceeds go to help every student in the school. Fun times were had today from running, to kickball games, seeing who could swing the highest, and deciding which sno cone flavor is the best! The day was definitely a success!
