Earth Day, which takes place on April 22, dates back to 1970 when a day was created for people to focus on bringing awareness to the issues that were negatively affecting our planet. We have all heard Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, but Earth Day represents so much more. This year the theme is "Planet vs Plastics." For Earth Day 2024 on April 22nd, EARTHDAY.ORG is unwavering in our commitment to end plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040. By reducing the use of plastics we are filling less landfills with material that can take between 20 to 500 years to decompose. By setting goals for the future, we are working toward creating a cleaner environment for future generations.
