Scotts Hill Elementary recently brought science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to life during its exciting STEAM Night, “We’ve Got the Power,” in partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority. The event welcomed students, families, and community members for an evening full of hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration centered around the power of energy.
From the moment guests walked through the doors, the school was buzzing with excitement. Students rotated through a variety of interactive stations designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of how energy impacts everyday life. Activities focused on concepts such as electricity, renewable energy, engineering design, and problem-solving, allowing students to learn by doing.
Families worked together to complete challenges, build models, and experiment with different forms of energy, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and critical thinking. Whether designing simple circuits, exploring renewable resources, or creating artistic representations of energy, students were fully immersed in the theme, “We’ve Got the Power.”
Scotts Hill Elementary’s STEAM Night not only celebrated student learning but also strengthened the connection between school, home, and community partners. Events like this highlight the school’s commitment to providing engaging, real-world learning experiences that inspire students to think creatively and explore future possibilities.
By the end of the night, one thing was clear—at Scotts Hill Elementary, students truly have the power to learn, create, and lead.
