Wood Named Principal of Scotts Hill

Director of Schools, Danny Beecham, has named Mr. Adam Wood Principal of Scotts Hill High School effective July 1. A Henderson County native and long-time resident, Mr. Wood comes to Scotts Hill from Riverside High School in Decaturville where he served on the administrative team for the last three years, including serving as principal in 2022-23. Before this, Mr. Wood served as a band director for multiple schools in West Tennessee, including two years at Lexington Middle School and eight years at Lexington High School, where his bands consistently earned high marching and concert performance rankings. In addition to his K-12 education experience, Mr. Wood is an Adjunct Instructor of Music for the University of Tennessee at Martin and has served as an adjunct instructor for Jackson State Community College. Mr. Wood also is an ordained minister with over two decades of ministry experience and currently serves as the Music and Worship Arts Pastor at Sand Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington.

Mr. Wood is a Henderson County Schools alumnus, graduating from Lexington High School in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Union University, a Master of Music in Music Education from Austin Peay State University, and an Educational Specialist degree from Arkansas State University. Adam and his wife Lindsay, a small business owner, live in Lexington.
