Teacher Appreciation Week in Henderson County is off to a phenomenal start, thanks to the announcement that five outstanding Henderson County School employees have been named West Tennessee Top Teachers by Froggy 104, 92.3 The Hog, and JJ 97.7.
Listeners from across West Tennessee were invited to nominate their favorite educators in six categories—Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, High School, and Principal—during a two-week nomination period. That was followed by two weeks of voting throughout the month of April, with passionate support pouring in from communities across the region.
When the results were announced, Henderson County Schools proudly claimed five of the six categories—an extraordinary achievement that highlights the excellence, dedication, and heart of our educators.
The winners representing Henderson County are:
Principal: Shannon Taylor, Bargerton School
Preschool Teacher: Stephanie Wilson, Bargerton School
Kindergarten Teacher: Alisha Fisher, Bargerton School
Elementary Teacher: Angie Holmes, Beaver Elementary
High School Teacher: Lindsay Young, Lexington High School
In recognition of their outstanding contributions, each winner received generous gift certificates from Davis Clothing in Lexington, Sunset Valley Farms, and other local businesses that proudly support education in West Tennessee.
To make the celebration even more special, the winning teachers were pictured with Tad from Froggy 104, who visited Henderson County to personally help honor and congratulate these amazing educators.
Each of these educators has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to their students, their schools, and the larger community. Their recognition is not just a personal honor—it reflects the incredible strength of our district as a whole.
“This recognition is a testament to the amazing teachers, students, families, and community that make up Henderson County Schools,” said Director of Schools Danny Beecham. “I couldn’t be prouder of these five educators and of the countless others who work every day to inspire, nurture, and empower our students. What a great way to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to every teacher and employee in our district—you are the heart of Henderson County.”
Henderson County Schools extends a heartfelt congratulations to these award-winning educators and a sincere thank you to every member of our school family. This week, and every week, we honor your work, your passion, and your impact.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
