Mr. Danny Beecham, Director of Schools, is pleased to announce that Mr. Adam Harrington has been named the new principal of Bargerton Elementary School.
Mr. Harrington is a 2003 graduate of Scotts Hill High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Lambuth University in 2007. That same year, he began his teaching career at Lexington High School while earning his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University, which he completed in 2009.
During his 15 years at Lexington High School, Mr. Harrington not only excelled as an educator but also made a lasting impact as a coach. He served as the head baseball coach from 2011 to 2022, building a strong program and mentoring many student-athletes along the way.
In 2024, he earned his Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. He then transitioned to Westover Elementary, where he served as Assistant Principal and quickly became a respected leader among staff and students.
Mr. Harrington has been married for 15 years to Lauren Price Harrington, who is also an educator and currently teaches third grade at South Haven Elementary. They have two children, Kinsley and Paxton.
Reflecting on this next step in his educational journey, Mr. Harrington shared:
“I would first like to thank Mrs. Maynard for giving me an amazing opportunity at Westover to learn and grow from her as an administrator. I will most certainly miss the staff and students at Westover as they welcomed me wholeheartedly. I would also like to thank Mr. Beecham for trusting me and giving me this amazing opportunity. I am excited about starting this new chapter in my life and look forward to following in the footsteps of Mrs. Taylor.
My favorite part of teaching and being an administrator is the daily interactions that I get to have with students. I hope to make a positive impact in our students' lives and help them along their journey.”
