The Henderson County Board of Education met on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at South Haven Elementary School. In addition to other agenda items, the Board recognized outstanding educators across the district, honoring Principal of the Year Brandon Rainey of Lexington High School and Teachers of the Year: Anyce Russell (Pre-K–4th, Pine Oak Elementary), Jessica Austin (5th–8th, South Side Elementary), and Amanda Branson (9th–12th, Scotts Hill High School).
