The Lexington High School and Scotts Hill High School bands recently held their annual Concert Festival Preview Concert on Thursday, March 5, in the LHS Auditorium.
Each year, the two high school bands come together to perform the musical selections they will present at the WTSBOA Concert Performance Assessment. The concert also features a special performance where both bands combine to form one large ensemble. The location of the preview concert rotates each year between the two schools, with Lexington High hosting this year’s event.
The preview concert provides students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience before their official assessment and highlights the unity and shared commitment to instrumental music education across Henderson County.
The Lexington High School Band is directed by Adam Wood, who also serves as the Henderson County Fine Arts Director, and the Scotts Hill High School Band is directed by Jordan Ashby.
Both bands will perform at the WTSBOA Concert Performance Assessment on Thursday, March 12. The Scotts Hill High School Band will perform at 10:40 a.m., followed by the Scotts Hill Elementary School Band at 12:00 p.m., and the Lexington High School Band at 2:00 p.m.
Henderson County Schools wishes these talented musicians the best of luck as they represent their schools at the upcoming assessment.
