Henderson County Youth Leadership students participated in Business and Industry Day, gaining valuable insight into the local business community and the industries that help drive the county’s economy.

The day began with a panel discussion featuring local small business owners David Small of Davis Clothing, Braden Wilson of Allstate, Andrea Crawford of RE/MAX Realty, Cheryl James of Corporate Images, and Deanne Pace of Lexington Discount Drugs. Panelists shared their experiences with business ownership, discussed the challenges and rewards of operating a small business, explained why they chose Henderson County, and offered advice to the next generation of leaders.

In the afternoon, students toured Volvo Penta and Arch Medical, where they explored the facilities, observed production processes, and learned about the products manufactured at each location.

Business and industry play an important role in Henderson County by creating jobs, supporting families, and contributing to the local economy. Through these firsthand experiences, students gained a better understanding of the many opportunities available in their community and the importance of supporting local businesses and industries.
