8th Graders have been working on the Distribution of Fossil Fuels as well as the patterns of volcanoes and earthquakes. To conclude their lesson on the unit, students played a game called Geobattleships to find the relationships between volcanoes and earthquakes. This brought the information to real-life concepts. Students loved it.

Schools in Henderson County will be open tomorrow. However, bus drivers will exercise discretion when navigating their routes based on road conditions. If your child’s bus is unable to reach your home, please contact the school in the morning, and your child’s absence will be excused. For parents who drive their children to school but feel the roads on their route remain unsafe for travel, please notify your child’s school in the morning, and their absence will also be excused. Henderson County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 13th, 2025, due to hazardous conditions on many backroads throughout the district’s bus routes. After careful evaluation of road conditions, district officials have determined that it is unsafe for school buses to operate on several rural and secondary roads. “The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” said Mr. Danny Beecham, Director of Henderson County Schools. “Although primary roads appear to be in good condition, many of our bus routes rely on backroads that remain challenging due to lingering snow and the threat of refreezing.” We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our families and staff as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
