Happy National Principals Month from the Henderson County School District! A big thank you to Mrs. Taylor and all the amazing Henderson County School Principals who work hard and inspire our students daily. Your impact is truly important, and your dedication to creating a positive school environment makes a difference in many lives. #ThankAPrincipal #NationalPrincipalsMonth
Mrs. Shannon Taylor is a dedicated educator with 30 years of experience in various roles, including teaching Biology and serving as a principal. After earning her Bachelor's in Education from UT Martin and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University, she has significantly impacted schools like LHS and Bargerton Elementary School, where she currently serves as principal. Recognized as the West Division Principal of the Year for Tennessee in 2021-2022, Mrs. Taylor is a passionate advocate for her students and a loving mother of three and grandmother of one. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as she has served on the Advisory Council for the Education of Students with Disabilities for 16 years, where her son, Ben, “fuels her passion” for special education. An interesting fact about Mrs. Taylor is that as a middle school and high school parent and sports supporter, she has attended more than 2000 athletic events just supporting her own three children… not to mention her school sporting responsibilities! She would like to share some advice with new teachers: “Every day you work, you are interviewing for your next job. Work hard. Read the articles. Go above and beyond. The kids are worth it all.” Mrs. Taylor inspires her students to pursue their dreams while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment at her school. She states, “We have the absolute best students at Bargerton School! I am blessed to work with a faculty and staff I love and trust. Also, I have the best assistant principal I could ever ask for! She inspires me daily in her actions and love of our students and school. I am incredibly proud to be the principal at Bargerton School with students, faculty, staff, and parents that I truly love!”

We had a great turnout at FCA this morning! Thank you Micah Milam for coming out and talking to our students this morning. FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) will be every other Thursday morning from 7:15-7:35. Any 5th- 8th grade student who would like to attend is welcome to attend. FCA is open to ALL students, not just athletes. FCA's purpose is to encourage students to love and support each other and to grow in their relationship with Christ. Our next FCA meeting will be Thursday November 7th.
First Baptist youth ministers Carlos DeFritas and Micah Milam, and Mrs. Laurel Fitzgerald are sponsoring this for Bargerton School! If you would be interested in coming to speak at FCA please contact Mrs. Laurel @ fitzgerald.laurel@hcschoolstn.org.

On Wednesday, November 13th, Bargerton students will celebrate Thanksgiving. We're inviting all Bargerton Families to come have a delicious lunch with their student prepared by our cafeteria staff. More information will be sent home at a later date.
