We want to send a special thank you to our school counselors in the Henderson County School District. We appreciate everything that each of you do!
National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, is celebrated February 5-9, 2024, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within United States school systems and how students benefit as a result of school counselors. National School Counseling Week highlights school counselors' tremendous impact in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
This week honors school counselors for being actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents; for working with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; for focusing on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career, and social/emotional development; and working with teachers and educators to provide an educational system where students realize their potential and set healthy, realistic, and optimistic aspirations for themselves. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.
Henderson County is fortunate to have school counselors to work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options, and social/emotional skills. Henderson County School Counselors believe that every child who enters the doors of a Henderson County School is to be treated with respect and dignity and receive the help they need to become a better person. Henderson County School Counselors are the voices of all children in pursuing their dreams and receiving a high-quality education to become productive citizens. The mission of Henderson County School Counselors is for ALL students to receive academic, career, and social/emotional services and support to encourage all students to dream and achieve individual success for future endeavors.

Pre-K made 100 glasses to wear while celebrating 100 days of school.

2nd graders celebrated the 100th day of school by participating in several fun activities! They made 100-year-old puppets, made a snack mix with 100 goodies, colored a mystery picture, and guessed how many licks it would take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop!!

These students were great problem solvers each day and were nominated by their homeroom teacher.

Celebrating 100 days with 100 snacks! Students counted by ones and tens to fill their plates with 100 goodies.

Drake and Lawson created 100 using Legos to share with our class. They are very talented boys!

To celebrate the 100th Day of School in math, Mrs. Mallory's first graders practiced counting to 100 and weighing the items they counted. They estimated what 100 would look like, counted it out then compared it to other teams. We then had a light-weight and heavy-weight champion. Out of the items goldfish, marshmallows, chocolate chips, skittles, and M&Ms. Chocolate chips weighed the least and Skittles weighed the most!

100th day of school Kindergarten style!!!
This year Kindergarten could choose to make their own shirt with 100 things, dress like a 100 year old person, or wear a 100 days of school shirt. In their class they got to have a fashion show to show the rest of the students their creations.

Our 6th grade students are keeping their grades up but struggling to stand up! 😂 We have enjoyed celebrating 100 days of learning at Bargerton School!

February Lunch/Breakfast Menus have been shared on social media outlets and will be shared through the schoolwide "Rooms" as well.
