BGS Grades 2nd-8th: Our Study Island Challenge is off to a great start! Parents- please sign and return the bottom section of the Study Island form to let teachers know if your student is participating in the challenge by Friday, April 11th.
PreK-5th grade: Just a reminder that the 3rd and final Rockabilly Reader Challenge ends on April 11th. Students will return their completed sheets to their teacher on April 14th. Henderson County Schools will be open tomorrow, April 7, 2025.
Students living on an impassable road and unable to attend school will be excused tomorrow. Bus drivers will attempt to pick up as many students as possible using alternate routes. Car riders, please use caution when traveling and do not attempt to drive through flooded or damaged areas. Parents need to contact the school if their child(ren) cannot attend due to road conditions.
After a challenging week of storms and flooding, we look forward to seeing our students back in school. We recognize the difficulties many of our families have faced, and we are committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment as we return to our regular routines.

It's the week we've all been waiting for! Our students, teachers, and staff have spent the entire year preparing for state testing and it begins Thursday, April 17th. Please see our testing schedule for grades 2-8. We ask that all students be on time each day and well rested.

"The Great Argumentative Writing Debate of 2025"
6th Grade debated on whether a 4 day school week or a 5 day school week is better. Students are using the notes that they take during the debate to write an argumentative essay. Debate and notes will be used to add counterclaims and rebuttals to their essays.
