PreK-5th grade: Just a reminder that the 3rd and final Rockabilly Reader Challenge ends on April 11th. Students will return their completed sheets to their teacher on April 14th. Henderson County Schools will be open tomorrow, April 7, 2025. Students living on an impassable road and unable to attend school will be excused tomorrow. Bus drivers will attempt to pick up as many students as possible using alternate routes. Car riders, please use caution when traveling and do not attempt to drive through flooded or damaged areas. Parents need to contact the school if their child(ren) cannot attend due to road conditions. After a challenging week of storms and flooding, we look forward to seeing our students back in school. We recognize the difficulties many of our families have faced, and we are committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment as we return to our regular routines. "The Great Argumentative Writing Debate of 2025" 6th Grade debated on whether a 4 day school week or a 5 day school week is better. Students are using the notes that they take during the debate to write an argumentative essay. Debate and notes will be used to add counterclaims and rebuttals to their essays.

BGS Join Us for Autism Spirit Week! March 31st-April 4th Monday: Wear a fun hat to celebrate how our minds work differently. Tuesday: Celebrate the beauty in the diverse spectrum by wearing tie dye and/or rainbow colors. Wednesday: Appreciate sensory sensitivities by wearing (school appropriate) pajamas. Thursday: Wear your favorite sports team gear. Friday: Show your support and acceptance by wearing BLUE.
