Ava Salmon, a senior at Lexington High School, has been recognized as Henderson County’s youth recipient of the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards (GVSA), an annual program that honors outstanding volunteers from across Tennessee.
Each year, the GVSA selects one adult and one youth from every county to receive the prestigious award in recognition of exemplary volunteer service. Ava earned the honor for her dedication to serving both her school and community. Throughout high school, she has been actively involved in Beta and several other service organizations, demonstrating a commitment to helping others. As a recipient of a Youth Service America grant, she organized a local 9/11 Day of Remembrance event for Henderson County.
Through her dedication to service and ability to lead meaningful projects, Salmon exemplifies the qualities of compassion, responsibility, and integrity, making her a deserving honoree.
