A group of SHHS students recently participated in a manufacturing industry tour where they visited ARCH Medical Solutions, Falcon Plastics, and Nidec.
Throughout the day, students gained firsthand insight into the world of modern manufacturing—from precision machining and quality control to automation, plastics production, and engineering design. They were able to see how technology, teamwork, and problem-solving play key roles in today’s manufacturing careers.
A special thank-you to Holly Wood with Workforce Innovations, Inc. for helping organize the tours and to Nidec for graciously providing lunch for our group!
It was an eye-opening and educational experience that helped students connect classroom learning to real-world career opportunities.

🌟 Teacher of the Year Spotlight: Mrs. Amanda Branson 🌟
Henderson County Schools proudly celebrates Mrs. Amanda Branson, our Scotts Hill High School Teacher of the Year, for her outstanding dedication, compassion, and commitment to students and colleagues alike.
Now in her 23rd year in education—with 17 of those years proudly spent at Scotts Hill High School—Mrs. Branson began her teaching journey in 2003 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from the University of Tennessee.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Branson has served as a CTE Teacher and FCCLA Advisor for more than two decades, guiding countless students to achieve National FCCLA Gold Star Event recognition. Her accomplishments also include being honored as a National Jobs for America’s Graduates 5/5 Specialist and Clarksburg High School Teacher of the Year. She has also dedicated her time as Head Coach and Assistant Coach for Softball, Teen Health Council Sponsor, Scotts Hill Future Teacher Co-Sponsor, Tennessee Scholars Coordinator, Work Ethic Distinction Contact, Volunteer Tennessee Service Learning Grant Coordinator, and as a valued member of the Henderson County Schools Media Team.
Currently, Mrs. Branson serves alongside an incredible team of educators at Scotts Hill High School, including her Senior Class Sponsor Team, as they work together to plan memorable senior socials for the Class of 2026.
Mrs. Branson is known for staying after hours, going above and beyond, and always stepping up to help wherever she’s needed. A true team player, she is beloved by both students and staff, and her caring spirit shines through in everything she does. Her greatest joy remains in the classroom, where she helps students learn, grow, and discover their potential through Career & Technical Education and FCCLA.
Outside of school, Mrs. Branson treasures time with her family—especially her three sweet grandchildren. She continues to find joy in seeing her former students thriving and making a positive impact in their families, careers, and communities.
Congratulations, Mrs. Amanda Branson, on this well-deserved recognition! Your dedication, heart, and leadership make a difference every single day. 💛🍎✨
