While reading Small Steps: The Year I Had Polio, our students have been learning about what it was like to live through polio and how this illness affected people’s lives. Today, we had a very special opportunity to take our learning one step further! Mrs. Barbara came to visit our classroom and shared her own personal experience of having polio. The kids were able to hear firsthand what it was like to experience this illness, ask questions, and connect what they’ve been reading about to a real person’s story.

Congratulations to our 8th grade student, Aleah Pressey, on earning a positive trip to the principal’s office and a snack token! 🎉 Keep showing your ROAR, Lions!

Congratulations to Ms. Melissa’s 1st Grade Class, this week’s Popsicles with the Principal winner! 🎉 I loved seeing these students interact during their Turn & Talk math lesson, sharing their thinking, listening to classmates, and learning together! Way to ROAR, 1st Grade! 🖤💛

Fun Friday = STEM Friday! ✈️🗼💡 These 4th graders were UP for the challenge! 💪 They put their creativity and engineering skills to the test by building the tallest paper tower. There was lots of testing, improving, teamwork, and laughter along the way. ❤️ Who knew a few sheets of paper could turn into so much learning AND fun?

SAVE YOUR TABS!! This year as a school-wide community service project we are collecting can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Our beginning goal is to collect 100lbs of tabs! Help us meet or beat it! What to collect? Soda tabs, soup tabs, or any aluminum pull tabs Where to drop them off? Send with a child or drop off in the office for Ms. Katie Deadline? We will collect until May 1st

4th grade is already ROCKING it!! For their amazing behavior and learning in the classroom, they got to enjoy “Popsicles with the Principal” today! Keep on Roaring!
