Lady Lions Basketball Summer Skills Clinics

Scotts Hill Elementary’s 8th grade students recently participated in the “On My Own” program presented through the local 4-H Extension Office, gaining valuable, real-world experience in financial decision-making and life skills. This hands-on program is designed to help students understand the responsibilities that come with adulthood by placing them in realistic budgeting scenarios. During the simulation, students were assigned careers, salaries, and family situations, then challenged to manage monthly expenses such as housing, transportation, groceries, childcare, and more. As they moved through different stations, they made important financial choices, learning quickly how budgeting, prioritizing needs, and making informed decisions can impact their overall financial stability. The experience opened students’ eyes to the realities of independent living, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Many students were surprised by how quickly expenses add up and how important it is to plan ahead. Scotts Hill Elementary is proud of its 8th graders for their engagement and maturity throughout the program. Opportunities like “On My Own” provide meaningful, real-life learning experiences that prepare students for future success beyond the classroom.

2026/27 Henderson County Middle School Dance Team

Henderson County Schools Summer Camp 2026

We are excited to announce the return of the Henderson County Schools Academic Summer Camp for students entering grades K-9. This camp is designed to provide high-quality instruction and support to prepare students for the next school year.
The 16-day Summer Camp will be held at Pin Oak Elementary School.
The camp will run from Tuesday, May 26th, to Tuesday, June 16th.
Drop-off and breakfast begin at 7:30 A.M..Classes start at 8:00 A.M. and dismissal begins at 2:30 P.M.
The camp, taught by certified teachers, focuses on academic instruction in
Reading, Math, and STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
Students will also receive one hour of physical activity and free breakfast and lunch daily.
Students entering grades K-9 are eligible.
Please complete and return the registration form and medication administration form to your child's teacher.
Bus transportation will be provided, picking up students at designated elementary schools: Bargerton, Beaver, Scotts Hill, South Side, South Haven, and Westover. Buses will not run individual routes.

Scotts Hill Elementary School is proud to be participating in the TVA EnergyRight® Program! ⚡💡 Through this exciting opportunity, our students are learning the importance of energy conservation, sustainability, and how small changes can make a big impact on our environment. From hands-on activities to real-world applications, we are empowering our students to become responsible energy users and future leaders. We’re grateful for the support of the TVA EnergyRight program in helping us create a more energy-efficient school while inspiring our students to care for the world around them. Together, we are making a difference—one watt at a time! 🌎✨

Henderson County Schools Summer Camp will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Tuesday, June 16 at Pin Oak Elementary School. Be on the lookout for registration packets which will be sent home with students soon.

TCAP testing starts next week! Make sure you are present and well rested! Let's knock these tests out of the park!
