Completing the Henderson County PreK application packet does not guarantee enrollment in the PreK program. Non-income eligible students are placed on a waiting list once all paperwork is complete. Henderson County Schools will be in session on Tuesday, January 14th, with normal school hours. Please note that bus drivers will use their discretion to assess any questionable roads on their routes. Safety is our top priority, so adjustments may be made as needed.
Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing our students back in class tomorrow! 😊

For parents who drive their children to school but feel the roads on their route remain unsafe for travel, please notify your child’s school in the morning, and their absence will also be excused.

Henderson County Elementary School All-Star Game will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 16th. It will be played at Beaver Elementary School starting at 6 pm Thursday evening. Players will need their school uniform shorts. All- star jerseys will be provided.

Henderson County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 13th, 2025, due to hazardous conditions on many backroads throughout the district’s bus routes. After careful evaluation of road conditions, district officials have determined that it is unsafe for school buses to operate on several rural and secondary roads.
“The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” said Mr. Danny Beecham, Director of Henderson County Schools. “Although primary roads appear to be in good condition, many of our bus routes rely on backroads that remain challenging due to lingering snow and the threat of refreezing.”
We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our families and staff as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Henderson County Schools 5 - 8 Teacher of the Year -
Scott Bridges - Scotts Hill Elementary School
My name is Scott Bridges. I teach Social Studies in Grades 6, 7, and 8 at Scotts Hill Elementary School. This is my 12th year of teaching, all of which have been spent at Scotts Hill Elementary, where I attended. I graduated from Scotts Hill High School in 2009 and the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2012 earning a degree in Secondary Education with a History concentration.
What I enjoy most about teaching Social Studies is the opportunity to help students understand history, government, and geography in a way that addresses misconceptions and prepares students for their future by gaining a better sense of the past. I want students to walk away from my classroom believing their time was not wasted because they learned something valuable and had fun doing so.
I have been married for 14 incredible years to my best friend, Samantha, who I am now blessed to work alongside. We have two boys, Mack (4) and James (2), that keep us moving and laughing. I thank God for the many blessings he has given me.
