Day TWO of spotlighting and celebrating South Side Elementary!!
... South Side School opened its doors as a K-8 school in 1985 when Saris and Reagan schools were officially closed. Mr. Neal Wright became the first principal. Teachers from both schools joined together and formed South Side School. Sardis was the Blue Devils while Reagan was the Red Devils, yet South Side wanted to become their own. With that in mind, their colors became green and gold, and their mascot became the Mustang. Since 1985, they have added two additions.
..." We have said tearful goodbyes to many staff and faculty since 1985. Some have retired, and others have passed away. There are still three remaining people who have been at South Side since 1985. They are Tina Wright, Crystal Williams, and Sherry Grice. We would like to give a special tribute to Mr. Neal Wright. Our school would not be what it is without him. We are truly blessed to have our current principal, Mr. Marty Johnson, lead our school."
Our Kindergarten is studying nursery rhymes this week. Today, they read Jack Be Nimble. They enjoyed jumping over the candlestick just like the character Jack in their nursery rhyme.
