Henderson County Schools will not be in session tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th. While we are hopeful that weather and road conditions will continue to improve throughout the day, there remains too much uncertainty at this time to safely resume normal school operations. Several roads and streets across the district remain hazardous, and we are unable to ensure safe operation of our bus routes or a consistent start to the school day.
The decision to close school is not made lightly. Student and staff safety remains our highest priority, and given the current conditions, proceeding with a regular school day would involve unnecessary risk. We will continue to closely monitor conditions and work with local officials as we plan for a safe return.
We sincerely miss having our students in our buildings and classrooms, and we look forward to welcoming them back as soon as it is safe to do so. Thank you to our families and staff for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we navigate these circumstances together.
