Students in Ms. Lisa Coffman’s Hospitality and Tourism I and II classes at Lexington High School recently took a field trip to visit the legendary local eatery Scott’s (Parker’s) BBQ.
Before the trip, students watched the SEC Network’s True South feature on Scott’s BBQ and read articles from Southern Living and The Tennessean.
During the visit, students received a behind-the-scenes look at the cooking process and heard from owners Zach and Taneal Parker, who shared the history of the restaurant and their expansion.
Students also met Jeff, the general manager, who discussed the value of outstanding customer service and how it directly influences repeat business.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience—and the food—with some visiting for the very first time!
LHS extends sincere appreciation to Zach, Taneal, Jeff, and all the employees at Scott’s BBQ for their generosity and for hosting our students!

As for MANY years, the main community service project that Student Council takes part in is selling pecans for the Lexington Lions Club. The LHS Student Council sales account for approximately 65% of the sales for the Lexington Lions Club and all money stays in Henderson County for eyeglasses for kids and adults in Henderson County. We receive ZERO school profit.
