It is Report Card Day in Henderson County!

The LHS TigerArt Club was awarded a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission to travel to Nashville on Thursday, March 14th. Art students and club members enjoyed the day viewing the art exhibit “Southern/Modern” at The Frist Museum that featured artists from the south inclusive of both masters and contemporaries. The exhibit portrayed life in the south as we know it today and also stories of the past covering segregation, the industrial era, and modern works by artists that studied abroad and brought European movements such as Abstract Expressionism back to the south. The students also took part in the Art Quest interactive studio experience at the Frist and then made their way to the Gulch to spend their afternoon doing a walking tour of murals in the area. Thank you parents and teachers for allowing our students to participate in the enrichment this day provided!

Happy Spring Break!

Ms. Lidian's 9th grade English class just finished reading "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, and students are currently studying rhetoric (persuasive techniques) so her students created rhetoric posters advertising "Animal Farm". Their creativity is amazing!

LHS Tennis played a district match with South Gibson today. The boys’ team won 6-1 and are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in our district. The girls’ team lost 0-7 and are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in our district.

If you are 17 or older, you are eligible to give blood. Students that are 17 years old have to get permission slips signed; students that are 18 years old can consent for themselves. Please see Mrs. Young in room 1 to get your appointment booked. Some teachers actually give extra credit and you receive 1 hour of community service! Help save a life!

Seniors- this is your reminder that prom tickets are $35 through Friday and will increase after Spring Break.

Congratulations to the LHS Tigers Tennis Team!!! Both the boys’ and girls’ teams picked up a district win today against Crockett County. Boys won 6-1 and girls won 4-3. This gives our boys’ team a 2-0 record and the girls’ team a 2-1 record overall for the year. They have another district match Thursday with South Gibson coming to town.
