Noah Wood recently received an Offer of Appointment to the United States Naval Academy. He was congressionally nominated by Congressman David Kustoff and Senator Marsha Blackburn. Noah will spend the next four years gaining academic and leadership skills to graduate with a Bachelor's degree and commissioning in the Navy as an officer. Congratulations, Noah Wood!

Henderson County Schools proudly announces Derek Carr as the new head football coach at Lexington High School. Coach Carr is a 2008 graduate of McKenzie High School. He played quarterback at the University of Tennessee at Martin from 2008-2012. His coaching career began as a graduate assistant coach at UT Martin. He has since served as a wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator at Temple University, Tennessee Tech, South Side High School, and Milan High School. He was the head coach at Milan High School for the past two seasons. Coach Carr is a member of the Hall of Fame at the University of Tennessee at Martin and the Carrol County Sports Hall of Fame. He coached under Matt Rhule (current Nebraska Head Coach) at Temple, with Marcus Satterfield (current Nebraska Offensive Coordinator) at Tennesee Tech, and Jason Simpson at UT-Martin. Derek, his wife Shelley, and his two children, Landry and Bryson, are excited to join Tiger Nation and the rich athletic tradition at Lexington High School.

This Thursday night, February 29th the LHS Yearbook staff will be hosting Great Pretenders. The show begins at 6:00pm with the Silent Auction beginning at 5:30pm. We have over $800 worth of auction items that have been donated from local businesses. 100% of the proceeds raised at this event will be donated to the Susan Walker Scholarship Foundation, which directly benefits students in our school!
