JROTC made it back from Cadet Leadership Camp. The kids endured a very challenging week; however, they all finished stronger and closer to each other. Through all the hardship, anytime they had an opportunity to come together, the smiles and laughter soon followed. Camp graduates and their Flight (squad of at least 10 cadets) Assignments: - Fulton Armstrong, Echo Flight - Griffin Armstrong, Delta Flight - Jordan Azbill, Charlie Flight - MaKinley Bailey, Charlie Flight - Niyah Hughes, Group Staff/Standards and Evaluations Officer - Carley Matheny, Alpha Flight Sergeant - James Middleton, Delta Flight Commander - Landon Park, Charlie Flight Commander - Jon Robinson, Foxtrot Flight - Kason Taylor, Bravo Flight - Emily Wood, Bravo Flight/Standards and Evaluations Sergeant They also earned impressive individual and team awards: Griffin earned Distinguished Graduate as the Top Cadet in his Flight. Griffin and Fulton finished the mile run with the two fastest times of the entire camp, both earning individual Fleet Feet awards. Carley's Flight had the fastest time in the group run, earning the Fleet Feet Flight award. Landon scored a perfect 100 on the academic evaluation and led his Flight to earn the Top Academic Flight award. Emily and Kason's Bravo Flight earned the Top Sports Flight and Honor Flight (overall best Flight).

JROTC Cadet Leadership Camp
Eleven cadets from LHS AFJROTC are in the middle of an unforgettable week at their summer leadership camp at East Carolina University! They’ve joined forces with around 150 cadets from 14 high schools across Tennessee and North Carolina. The week has been packed with early morning PT, military drill, room inspections, competitive sports, and intense team-building challenges. Despite battling heavy rain, flooding, and heat indexes into the 100s, our cadets have pushed through with resilience and determination. Of course, it's not all hard work—they’ve also enjoyed a pool party, social hangouts, and are looking forward to a dance party to wrap up the week. Proud of how they’re representing LHS with pride, discipline, and spirit!
