LHS history students got the rare opportunity to hear from Marlene Warshawski Yahalom, PhD. The daughter and granddaughter of six Holocaust survivors, Dr. Yahalom offers a powerful perspective shaped by both lived experience and years of academic study. She previously served as Director of Education for American Society for Yad Vashem, dedicating her work to preserving and teaching Holocaust history. Dr. Yahalom earned her PhD in Sociology from Columbia University, focusing on collective memory and the role of archives in remembering the Holocaust. She has also taught courses on the Holocaust, human rights, and collective memory, and brings over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership and educational programming. Thank you Dr, Yahalom!
