Weather Communication from HCS: Henderson County Schools will be closed this week, Monday, January 26, through Friday, January 30. Our county and the state are presently under a State of Emergency proclamation due to the winter storm we experienced and its ongoing aftermath. Hazardous travel conditions and continued safety concerns exist across our district, making this closure necessary to protect students, staff, and families. We encourage everyone to take appropriate precautions during this time, limit travel when possible, and remain mindful of hazardous weather conditions. During this challenging time, we ask our school community to keep one another in their thoughts and prayers. As always, our priority is the safety and well-being of those we serve, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

LHS Tennis Reschedule...

We will continue to monitor weather updates closely and will communicate any additional information as it becomes available. Please take appropriate precautions during this time, and we encourage everyone to stay safe and stay warm.

Mrs. Terri Dewald’s U.S. Government class recently practiced running for political office! Students learned the qualifications for each office, developed campaign slogans, and created their own campaign signs as part of the activity. A great hands-on way to bring civics to life!

LHS JROTC completed their annual Unit Assessment today, exceeding standards in 8 of the 9 evaluated areas, receiving 97 out of 100 points, and earning the Distinguished Unit with Merit award. Cadets Niyah Hughes and Dylan Ison were recognized as "Top Performers," an award that is given to a maximum of 10% of cadets in any unit.

Parent Check-In for Friday’s Pep Rally
In accordance with State and Federal Guidelines, all visitors must be properly checked in before entering a school building, which involves mandating visitor sign-in, ID verification, and the use of badge systems.
Parents who plan to attend the pep rally on Friday are encouraged to pre-register using the link. Doing so will allow a preprinted badge to be ready for pickup at the new building office door at 1:45 p.m., making entry into the gym quicker and more efficient. Note that the preregistration also requires the upload of your license and a photo.
Visitors who do not pre-register will be required to complete the standard check-in process at the door, which includes presenting a driver’s license and may involve waiting in a lengthy line.
