We will be having hybrid parent-teacher conferences like we have had in the past three years. Your student's teachers will start notifying you using ROOMS on or after 9/11. Hopefully you will get the information you need, but if you would like to meet in person, that will be the time to schedule the meeting for 9/14. We look forward to discuss your student's progress.

This is Crystal Barber. She is a HERO! She is a parapro that is our lunch aide and our backup nurse. She realized that a kindergartner was in distress today and administered back blows. The child was choking on a quarter! The quarter popped out and she is ok! We are so thankful for Crystal's attentiveness, training and quick action!
5th grade has been studying the Engineering Design Model. Today they put their knowledge to work by using clay to shape models to float marbles. The highest number of marbles to float was in the 30s.
Neon dress up day is August 31st for our Character Day celebrating RESPECT!!!

We are in a very special situation at our school as we are in dire need of dependable substitutes. Over the past few years, we have had our substitutes actually be hired into the school system into positions at the high school and our school. If you are willing to be on our preferred sub list and have received the training, please contact Darlene at 602–4000 to be placed on our list for daily calls. There is a training on Thursday at the Watson center if you would like to become a substitute teacher. Our substitutes are part of our team and we depend on them to help us take care of our students. It is a very important job!

Parents/guardians, check your email tonight for instructions to sign up and access new features. If you do not get an email by Tuesday morning, it will be largely due to your email address not being correct in the system. If this is the case for you, please kindly and patiently contact your child's school to ensure the school has the correct email address.
Once you have received the email and followed the instructions, you can log on through the Henderson County Schools App. The “Rooms” feature is a button in the bottom right corner of the phone screen. If not, please update your app. “Rooms” can also be accessed via the web at https://id.edurooms.com/. A direct link to this site will be conveniently located on the Henderson County Schools Website.
Your child can do the same as above but they will not receive an invitation email like the parents/guardians. They can now access “Rooms” through the app or their personal Chromebook via the web.
Remember, this is how all teachers, coaches, club sponsors, students, and parent/guardian communication will happen from this point forward. Therefore, it is critical that parents and students are logged into the “Rooms” portal and that notifications are turned on.

We are opening the online enrollment program Wednesday, 16, 2023. All new registrations and transfers will take place at the Henderson County Board of Education. The enrollment will be in the basement of the Board of Education. Parking is available in the back. You can enter the door on the left. We request a copy of your student's birth certificate, social security card, an up-to-date shot record, and two proofs of residence. If you are coming out of state, you will need to get the shot record transposed into a Tennessee shot record at our local Health Department. Should there be custody issues, we will need a copy of the Parent Plan. There will be NO enrollments done at the schools.

Please will be looking for a handout being sent home with your child tonight that will supply information about thE ROOMS app that will be used for communication starting next week. I want to stress that it is important that your email address that is on file is accurate, so that you can be invited to use the program.
