A HUGE thank you to our wonderful cafeteria staff for all of their hard work during our Grandparents Day meal! 💙💛
They served a TON of students, grandparents, and families yesterday, and we truly could not have done it without them. Their hard work helped make today such a special experience for our Westover families.

Grandparents’ Day was a HUGE success, and it truly took our entire Westover family to make it happen!
A very special THANK YOU to our terrific lunch ladies for preparing and serving so many meals; our wonderful PTO for decorating, serving, and jumping in wherever needed; and our coaches, administration, and SRO for helping keep everything organized and running smoothly.
Thank you to our Parapros for keeping the tables clean and the children contained 😄—no small task on a day like today!
And most of all, thank you to our amazing grandparents and special guests who showed up for our Little Bears. Seeing our students’ faces light up as they spent time with you made every bit of the work worthwhile. 🐻❤️
A day like today takes EVERYONE—teachers, staff, volunteers, families, and community members—all working together. We are so thankful for every person who helped welcome guests, serve meals, clean tables, supervise students, give directions, solve problems, and do the countless little things that made today special.
It takes a village to raise our Little Bears, and we sure are thankful for ours! 🐻💙💛

Remembering September 11, 2001 on its 25th Anniversary
Today, our students took time to learn about and reflect on September 11, 2001. Mrs. Mino’s 7th grade ELA classes watched a compilation of news footage from that day as well as interviews of children who were raised in the wake of 9/11. Afterwards, they participated in thoughtful discussions about the events, the people affected, and its lasting impact.
In 6th grade, Mrs. Molly’s students also watched news footage and completed a reading and written reflection focused on community, courage, kindness, service, and the importance of remembering.
Through both learning experiences, our students were reminded that history is more than dates and events—it is about people, their stories, and the ways we come together during difficult times. ❤️🤍💙

📍 Enter through the New Gym foyer. You will pay for lunch there and then wait in the gym for your grandchild.
👧👦 We will bring students through the gym and let you know when your grandchild is arriving, where they will be eating, and what time their lunch ends.

Monday, our HCN XC team fought extreme temperatures and talented teams at one of our most challenging meets of the season at Martin Middle School. We showed up and ran our hearts out, even in the heat. Varsity Boys had a strong finish, most of them crossing the finish line back to back and many had a PR. Our very own Knox Scott medaled at 15th! Make sure to congratulate our fellow Bear! 🐻
