We had a great board meeting on Thursday, November 14th, at Scotts Hill High School! A huge thank you to Mrs. Amanda Branson for her warm hospitality, and to the CTE department for the insightful student speakers and the fantastic tour of the facilities. It was inspiring to see the students' hard work and dedication firsthand. Our next board meeting will be on Thursday, January 9th, at Lexington High School, and we look forward to continuing rotating meetings between schools. We appreciate the support from all our schools and communities!

Henderson County School District Named a Level 5 District! We are thrilled to announce that the Henderson County School District has been recognized as a Level 5 District by the Tennessee Department of Education, the highest possible rating in the state's TVAAS (Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System) accountability system! Mr. Danny Beecham, Director of Henderson County Schools, states, "We are proud to be a Level 5 district, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our teachers, students, and staff." This incredible achievement reflects the outstanding academic growth of our students and the hard work of our dedicated educators, staff, parents, and community. Mr. Beecham Visits Be Pro Be Proud (Introduction to Skilled Trades) Bus On November 6th, Mr. Beecham, Director of Schools, visited the Be Pro Be Proud Bus at Lexington High School, where students had the opportunity to explore hands-on simulators showcasing a variety of skilled trades. The event, part of a statewide initiative, aimed to introduce students to high-demand careers in fields such as welding, electrician, truck driving, construction, and manufacturing. The simulators on the bus encourage students to consider these rewarding careers, highlighting the strong job prospects and earning potential they offer in Tennessee's growing economy. A special thank you to Mrs. Nicki Johnson, LHS Career Advisory Specialist, for organizing this opportunity for students. The bus will be at Scotts Hill High School on February 7th and 8th.

🌟 As National Appreciation Month comes to a close, Mr. Beecham wants to express his heartfelt gratitude to our incredible group of principals! This past Monday, the Central Office staff helped deliver a special lunch provided by Mr. Beecham to each principal and assistant principal. Henderson County School System and Lexington City System Join Forces to Highlight Importance of School Attendance Community and business leaders, representatives from the medical and mental health fields, and school officials gathered for a crucial meeting to address the pressing issue of school attendance. The meeting, which delved into the topics of truancy, chronic absenteeism, and the significance of regular school attendance, emphasized how absences and tardiness can accumulate rapidly. Key presenters at the meeting included Kim Bryant and Dr. Steve Meyer from the Henderson County School System, as well as Julie Meyer and Melanie Douglas from the Lexington City School System. Their insightful presentations shed light on the far-reaching implications of irregular attendance and had an open discussion with those in attendance for strategies to tackle this prevalent issue. This collaborative effort between the Henderson County School System and the Lexington City System marks a significant joint venture aimed at raising awareness about the importance of school attendance. With September being School Attendance Awareness Month, the timing of this meeting serves as a poignant reminder of the need for collective action to address attendance-related challenges in educational settings.
