Mrs Karissa taught the 3-4th students how to distinguish between a poisonous snake and a venomous viper. In Tennessee, we only have four types of venomous snakes. We spent a significant amount of time discussing the king snake, which preys on copperheads, emphasizing the importance of protecting king snakes instead of killing them. Additionally, it is illegal to kill snakes in Tennessee.

“I would first like to thank Mrs. Maynard for giving me an amazing opportunity at Westover to learn and grow from her as an administrator. I will most certainly miss the staff and students at Westover as they welcomed me wholeheartedly. I would also like to thank Mr. Beecham for trusting me and giving me this amazing opportunity. I am excited about starting this new chapter in my life and look forward to following in the footsteps of Mrs. Taylor.
My favorite part of teaching and being an administrator is the daily interactions that I get to have with students. I hope to make a positive impact in our students' lives and help them along their journey.”
