It’s not often that a person so young can be a talented writer, putting so many emotions into their words while fueling them with raw talent. Jayden Barnes, a sophomore at our own Lexington High School is now a published author in the genre of poetry! “You Looked Fine”, Jayden’s first published work shows her talent is undeniable, and her passion for words is indescribable. We are so proud of this young lady and wish her continued success in her future published works. Her book is now available on Amazon! Check it out!

LHS students in the Youth Health Council sponsored a booth dedicated to promote awareness about healthy dating standards and how to get assistance if facing an abusive relationship. The club is sponsored by Ms. Lisa Coffman and Henderson County Health Department educator Amber Staten.

The Henderson Country Youth Leadership class learned about many aspects of health for Healthcare Day. Students started the day at the Health Department where they had discussions about public health and what that looks like for us as individuals and for our county. Then, we toured our community hospital and were able to see all of the improvements being made and the resources brought in locally. We then went to Wild Clarity and had discussions about mental health and ended our day at Reinbow Riding Academy, learning about hippotherapy and volunteer opportunities.

Mrs. Lisa Coffman's Family & Consumer Science students recently made Valentine's Day Cards for AHC Lexington Nursing home.

Due to the predicted snow accumulation and potential hazardous weather conditions, the school district will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th.
