The 2025/2026 Henderson County Volleyball Tournament took place today at Lexington High School. The Westover Bears were crowned champions and the Bargerton Rebels finished the season in 2nd place.

Congratulations to Ella, Ali P, Rowan, and Marley on being named to the Henderson County volleyball all star team!

Congratulations to our Westover Lady Bears Volleyball team and coach Daniel Mitchell and Coach Kelly Eliff on their historic undefeated regular season and Henderson County Tournament champions. These girls work hard and have fun and their teamwork really paid off today. Way to go girls!

Here are some fun ways to celebrate spring in our community! 🌷🐣

2026 Bass Master Classic High School Champions 🏆

Our 2nd graders are halfway to hatch day! They enjoyed candling eggs to see the development of chicks inside. The egg they looked at today is egg #2, Pip!Then, they recorded facts they learned about chicks and journaled what the chicken looks like on day 10 inside the egg. 🥚🐣🐥

Great job, Westover!
We are excited to celebrate a big accomplishment. Last week, Westover students met the district goal of 40 minutes average on their learning paths on Exact Path! 🎉
Our top grade levels in Reading were 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades, and our top grade levels in Math were 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. Great job to those students and teachers for their hard work and dedication.
We also want to give a special shout-out to several of our Exact Path Explorers who have already reached their semester goal of mastering 8 skills! These students celebrated their achievement with cupcakes from Mrs. Jessica and the RTI Team. 🧁
Keep working hard, explorers, and keep learning. We are so proud of you! 🌟

2nd grade is EGG-specting! Our second graders put their eggs in the incubator this morning and have high hopes for our hatch at the end of the month! Students documented the color of the eggs and marked a calendar to find their projected hatching date. Which egg is your favorite? 🥚🐣

After a little break, COC meets again tomorrow in the library at 7:10.

2nd graders enjoyed reading with 7th graders, guest readers, themed activities, singing "happy birthday" to Dr. Seuss, and special snacks to celebrate Read Across America! 📚

It's game day, volleyball fans!

To wrap up Black History Month, we were so proud to see one of our very own shining bright!
Second grader Kyson Carver shared his love of reading by reading a book about Michael Jordan to his classmates. What a powerful way to celebrate the life and accomplishments of one of the greatest athletes of all time!
At Westover, we are proud to celebrate the achievements, culture, leadership, and lasting impact of African Americans — not just this month, but all year long. ❤️🖤💛
Way to go, Kyson! Your confidence and courage to lead your class made us BEAR-y proud! 🐻📚
