Hello Westover Family! My name is Natalie Sorensen and I am so very excited to be starting my 12th year of teaching at Westover! Go Bears! Prior to coming to Henderson county I taught 5th grade ELA at Pope School in Jackson as well as Caywood Elementary in Lexington City. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from University of Memphis, Masters degree in education from Ashford University, and my EdS. in administration from Arkansas State University. Needless to say, I love school and feel like I myself am a forever student! I am married to John Sorensen and am a boy mom with 4 sons-all of whom I love very much. My oldest, Tyler, is 21 and a senior at University of Tennessee at Martin. My 17 year old son, Nico, and my 16 year old step-son, Jaden, both attend Madison Academic High School in Jackson and will be an upcoming senior and junior this year. My youngest, Miles, is starting 5th grade and will attend Westover with me. He is very excited to become a Bear! As an educator, I believe ALL children have the ability to be successful in the classroom and I look forward to helping all of my students at Westover have a fantastic year!
Hey, Hey, Bear Fam!! 🩵💛
I’m Kelly Eliff, and I am excited to return home to teach 3rd grade at Westover! I received my bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Memphis. I received my master’s degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State. This is my 17th year in education. I am committed to building relationships and inspiring all students to learn.
I am married to David Eliff. We have two children, Wesley and Charli.
I am excited about this new school year and being a part of my Westover family.
Go Bears! 🌟🐻🌟
My name is Bethany Abraham, and I’m 25 years old. I am married to David Abraham and have two sweet little ones: Remi-Mae and Beau. I graduated from UTMPC with a bachelors in K-5 education. This will be my 4th year teaching, and I’m so happy to be coming back home to the elementary school I attended! I have spent the last 3 years at South Haven teaching 6th grade. I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade math at Westover! Once a bear, always a bear!💙💛
My name is Daniel Mitchell. This is my 11th year of teaching PE. After graduation from MTSU in 2013 with a degree in PE, I went back to get my masters degree in administration in 2020. I previously taught in Nashville for 8 years, before moving to Lexington in 2022.
My wife of 16 years is also a teacher. She currently teaches 1st grade at Westover. We have 2 daughters, one in 9th grade and the other in 6th. We also have 2 dogs who love to run around the yard chasing a frisbee any chance they get.
My goal is to teach children the physical skills they need to learn different activities/sports so that they can be healthy and active long after they leave my classes. I’m looking forward to being at Westover!

Voluntary PreK (VPK) is an income-based program and first priority will go to those families that qualify. Completing the Henderson County PreK application packet does not necessarily guarantee enrollment in the PreK program. Non-income eligible students are placed on a waiting list once all paperwork is complete. Once all qualifying students are placed, non-income eligible students will receive notice informing them of their status after the beginning of school, per the VPK grant guidelines.
