Our HCN Lady Tigers are the Northwest Tn Softball Champions. Congratulations! They went undefeated yesterday in tournament play-5-0. Way to go ladies!
8th grade night is tomorrow night. Come out and show your support for our talented Westover 8th graders, Maddie Stegall and Kyndalyn Wallace. Festivities began at 4:45. We play Huntington.
Happy Grandparents's day to all of the special grandparents that help take care of, teach, and love our students! You all make life special. 🩵💛 We celebrated grandparents on Friday with a delicious lunch served by our incredible lunch ladies. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff that helped to make this day special for our students and their families!
Our RTI team is already working with teachers and students to meet academic needs. We are blessed with a great staff of caring people!

1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders are working hard during counseling classes to fill the school with positive affirmations. This is part of our Be Kind Challenge. Our students are learning and spreading kindness everyday!
Meet our special education team! This team works hard to serve our students well. We welcomed a new sped teacher to Westover this year, Ms. Kelly Moffitt. Thank you to these wonderful ladies for all you do for our students. Your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.
Grandparents' day lunch is Friday! The menu includes baked ham or poppy seed chicken, green beans, hash brown casserole, roll, and banana pudding. Lunch times are as follows...

Please enter through the new gym doors. You will sign in and pay for lunch there if you didn't prepay. We will hold you in there until it is time for your grandchild to eat lunch. Lunches will last about 30 minutes. We cannot wait to see all of our GRANDparents!

School pictures are coming up next week. Pre-k through 4th grade pictures will be Tuesday and 3 year olds and 5th-7th grades will be Wednesday. Below is a picture of the background. It is a darker blue than last year.
7th and 8th graders learned about soft skills in career counseling today: communication, problem solving, and teamwork. Our students benefit from these classes in so many ways. Thank you to Mrs. Grace and Mrs. Jessica for all you do for our students.
Westover's counseling department is starting a strong emphasis on kindness and instilling good values into our students. Starting next week, we will have weekly drawings of students who are caught being kind. Let's commit to partnering together to make kindness a habit all the time.
WEstover loves grandparents! We are excited to celebrate Grandparent's day with a special lunch on September 6th. Look for invitations coming home later this week.
HCN Softball had a great play day yesterday. We are so proud of our bear family that make up a large part of this team. Way to go girls! 🐻❤️

Hey, Bear Family!
First of all, we want to thank each of you for supporting Mrs. Winter during her fight with Breast Cancer. She is so thankful for her bear family. This is the FINAL reminder that orders are due this Monday, August 26th. If t-shirts aren't your thing there will be other ways that you can help coming up soon. Thank you all for making Westover a special place to be.
Congratulations to 6th grader, Kinley Tart, for winning both of her doubles matches as a member of the HC Tennis Team! The girls swept South Gibson and USJ 3-0. The boys played tough matches as well but fell short 1-2 to USJ.
Our Open House and Title 1 Meeting is Tuesday, August 20th.
