Dear Bear Family,
On October 16th, we will be dedicating our new gym floor in honor of Coach Blankenship. To commemorate this event, and to purchase a covering for our new court, we are selling the Bear Wear shown above.
We will be sending home paper copies of this order form on Monday. The sale will be on through September 29th. Please send money with your order form. The shirts will be ready before the big night! (Our first home game of the season!)
If you know people who played under Coach Blankenship, would you please share this information with them? We would love to see a HUGE turnout and a sea of blue and gold in the stands!
The special “Westover Alumni” shirt will have “Coach Blankenship” on the sleeve. It’s meant to be a special way to honor him for the many years of service, and for the many lives he has touched throughout his tenure with us at Westover.
We will have a Reception Room set up in the Library, so the alumni and other coaches, teachers, and administrators will have an opportunity to talk with T, and share wonderful memories of your time with Coach.
We need to raise $9,000 to purchase the rollout covering to protect our court when we have to utilize it for other school-wide events. 100% of the money raised this night, and with this shirt sale, will go toward purchasing this cover.
Please know that this night is about celebrating our Coach and dedicating the court in honor of him. We simply want to protect the court that bears his name.
We hope you will share out with everyone far and wide about this dedication night. Please forward this email to everyone you know whose life was touched by Coach Blankenship.
Let’s make it a night to remember.
Thanks so much,
Mrs. Maynard

Please join us for our first family engagement night of the school year! We will learn about our community heroes with a read aloud, an art activity, and we will honor them with thank you notes. There will be snow cones, prizes, and lots of fun!

Our students have started off the year with a bang! Way to go Bears! Readers are leaders. Parents and guardians PLEASE encourage your children to read!

We have had lots of questions recently about PayPams. Please see the attached document for more information. We hope this helps!

Grandparent's day is next Friday, September 8th. We look forward to seeing you all!

Happening at Westover right now!

All of our first graders have officially checked out library books! Check their backpacks and read with them. Ask them about how to take care of library books. These excited faces say it all! It has been a great week in the library.

Last weekend Westover's own Parker Smith competed with his team in the Bassmaster tournament in Dover, TN. Parker along with his teammate and captain WON the junior division. We are so proud of you, Parker! Keep it up!

We are excited to begin "spotlighting" each of our excellent Henderson County Schools next week!! We have schools full of outstanding teachers, staff, and students! Enjoy!

Parents /Guardians... please be certain you have enrolled in your student's "Room" for all things communication with teachers, sports, clubs, school administration, nurses, and more! Contact your school if you have questions about being enrolled.

Notice! Please bring your driver's license upon entering any Henderson County School.

Grandparent's day is coming up soon. Mark your calendars now. Be on the lookout for more information.

Westover has its FIRST million word club member of the school year, Miss Braelyn Mitchell! Braelyn is an 8th grader here at Westover and is an avid reader. Her family traveled a lot this summer so she did a lot of reading on those long trips and has only tested on about half of the books she read! Westover is so proud of you, Braelyn! Congratulations on this HUGE accomplishment!

Substitute teacher training is THIS Thursday. We are in desperate need of reliable subs in all of the county schools. Please consider attending this training and learning more about subbing in Henderson County Schools.

We hope to see you all Thursday night!

We are opening the online enrollment program Wednesday, August 16, 2023. All new registrations and transfers will take place at the Henderson County Board of Education. The enrollment will be in the basement of the Board of Education. Parking is available in the back. You can enter the door on the left. We request a copy of your student's birth certificate, social security card, an up-to-date shot record, and two proofs of residence. If you are coming out of state, you will need to get the shot record transposed into a Tennessee shot record at our local Health Department. Should there be custody issues, we will need a copy of the Parent Plan. There will be NO enrollments done at the schools.
