Day 1 of Administrator In-Service Complete!

Today marked the first of two days of in-service for administrators in the Henderson County School District, held at Jackson State Community College, Lexington Campus. It’s been a great day of learning, planning, and preparing for a successful school year.

A special thank you to Stacey Valle and Shannon Taylor for their hard work preparing and lining up Central Office supervisors and leaders to speak on various topics. We appreciate your time and dedication!

We’ll be back tomorrow to continue the work as we get ready to welcome students and staff back soon!

Our district and school leaders are spending the day on data! Today’s summer in-service is all about how we can create and use student data to support growth and make meaningful decisions for the year ahead. Even in early July, our team is committed to learning, collaborating, and leading with purpose. #DataDriven #SummerInservice

📚☀️ While students are enjoying summer break, many of our incredible teachers are spending part of their summer learning, growing, and getting inspired! From conferences and workshops to specialized trainings across the state, our educators are taking advantage of in-service opportunities to bring fresh ideas and strategies back to the classroom. Hannah McMinn, Rachel Mitchell, and Lindsey Bartholomew attended the Elevate Your Classroom conference in Nashville last week—just one of many exciting learning events happening this summer. We’re proud of Henderson County Teachers' commitment and grateful to our district for supporting ongoing professional development. Stay tuned as our teachers bring these experiences back to benefit every student! 🍎 #TeacherLeaders #LifeLongLearners #ProfessionalDevelopment #ElevateEducation

Henderson County Summer Camp students created a snack cone filled with treats for Jinx, the macaw. They decorated the cone to ensure Jinx received both nutrients and toys to keep her entertained while we studied STEM. Jinx loved her special treats and even tried to demonstrate her counting skills by counting the cones that the students made for her.

Henderson County Summer Camp students finished their boat races in preparation for the upcoming Boat Races at Beech Lake. Additionally, we learned how to identify different turtle species in our area, including the important lesson not to pick up a snapping turtle. We also reviewed the major rivers in the United States and their contributions to the economy. To wrap up, we discussed potential careers related to boats, rivers, and wildlife.
